Children's writing: slowing time using a clock - by Adrian

Our target for last week's age 7-9 Boost English Thursday class was to make time seem as if it was slowing down so we can make our reader feel tension. Wow, Adrian! The first thing I spotted was an amazing metaphor here! It is wonderful to see that you have used a metaphor of the painful shot to symbolise the character's feelings about waiting for a new game to arrive.You have remembered how to use repetition and combined this with time references.  You have also used the verb ‘dragged’ to show us how slowly the movement of the minutes felt.
