Children's writing: creating tension using a clock - by Alicia

In our Thursday morning Boost English class last week, we looked at how to use a clock to create tension in our writing. Wow! I was bowled over when I read your writing, Alicia. What an AMAZING way to start a piece of writing – with a personification of time. I absolutely LOVE how you have given time a personality and continued this through the writing. You have used lots of the tension techniques that we spoke about, such as the repetition of the short onomatopoeic sounds. There are also lots of references to time such as the description of the clock and the repetition of ‘waited and waited’. Thank you for sharing your writing!
