Caron, I know it's rare to start my comment for children's work with a last sentence - but this is so fabulous. What a way to end! It is a cliff hanger, and really makes the reader ponder on not only the next adventure, but also what has gone before. You have also done a really good job of using a variety of punctuation here, including lots of direct speech, which can be tricky to get right. Well done!
