Your child will be taught and guided by an expert qualified teacher and 11+ writing tutor, Anna Donovan, who has decades of experience in school class teaching and assessing children in Year 2 SATS and Year 6 SATS writing and for 11+ exams for the most sought-after schools. She prepares bespoke lessons using her knowledge to engage, develop and support your child to make the quickest progress.
Who this is suitable for
Suitable for children taking highly competitive grammar second-stage writing exams, CSSE, FSCE and/or independent school exams in 2027/8.
What the 3-term courses cover
Please note that the Year 4 academic curriculum spans three terms. To ensure you are aware of the texts that will be covered in the term your child joins, please ask Anna for a copy of the curriculum. Every term covers ALL the writing skills, but not all the text types.
- Story writing for 11+ exams.
- Description writing for 11+ exams.
- Recount/ diary writing for 11+ exams.
- All 11+ writing skills (text structure with paragraphing, literary devices, language development, high-level and ambitious vocabulary, sentence structure and punctuation).
What your child will achieve
- Confidence to plan and write, no matter how challenging.
- Expertise in all core 11+/KS2 writing skills.
- An ability to quickly and confidently self-assess their writing, identifying next steps/targets.
- High-level 11+ vocabulary knowledge and application through 11+ literary devices.
- Working knowledge of high-level skills to take back to school.
- No more writing gaps.
Here’s what happens
- Classes: Ten weekly online classes of 1.25 hours each (recorded so you can watch again).
- Class content: Original and engaging lessons to help your child to learn complex writing skills.
- Marking and homework: Weekly homework and meaningful video marking of both class work and homework, including a continuous assessment grid to chart your child's progress.
- Support: Anna is always available to offer support and advice.
Important details of the online course
- A 10-week course of 1.25 hours a week, led by a highly experienced and qualified teacher and 11+ tutor, Anna.
- Maximum class size of 6 students.
- Weekly lesson materials and personal feedback are shared via Dropbox.
- Model 11+ texts are provided (bespoke and explicitly written for My Home Class students only).
- This autumn 2025 term course delivers Term 1 of a 3-term curriculum. The curriculum is designed to be suitable for both children joining for one term and long-standing students, as each term introduces fresh content.

Course fee and how to book
The full course fee is £495 for the 10-week course. To book now, please pay a deposit of £10. After the first lesson (once we've established the course's suitability for your child), the remainder of the course fee will be invoiced in three instalments.
You will receive a Zoom code, course materials, and Dropbox links via email one week before the course starts.

Terms & Conditions
- After lesson 1, if you feel the class will suit your child, please submit their classwork for assessment and feedback. At this point, the first instalment of the course fee of £155 will be required to progress with the course and receive assessment and video feedback.
- If your child cannot attend a session, Anna will send the class recording, and work can still be submitted for marking and assessment.
- No refunds can be made for missed classes as the course is bookable for a 10-week unit of lessons.
- Classes ARE recorded and shared just with the six students in the group.
- One learner per booking. If two children from the same household join, please use separate devices in separate rooms to maximise their individual learning.
- Cameras to remain on to help with interaction with others, teacher support, and feedback.
