Wow! I love the idea of this picture being the setting for the destruction of Pompeii, Onvi. It's a brutal image and you have carefully created lots of word pictures to help us understand the terror that ensues.



Example:

  • The protector now became the destroyer (metaphor).
  • The sky darkened to slate grey with gaps of alabaster-white thunder (personification).
  • The bitter sky screamed with thunder (personification / pathetic fallacy).
