You have set the scene so well here, AK. We know that this family went to London and that the story starts with a dark evening full of colourful lights:

One dark evening, the whole place was colourful with lights.

Then, you tell your reader about a child who sneaks out one night and meets a detective who tries to recruit her! Fantastic idea. A child detective would be a cool job to have!
