Children's work: using rhetorical questions - by Reyansh

21.12.22

Thanks for sharing this super writing, Reyansh!

Your tasks was to include rhetorical questions to draw the reader in and make them want to read on.

Example: Surely this is bad?  Are you serious George?

You've cracked this! Also, your writing is packed with subtle and well-chosen ideas to show the personality and feelings of a character (such as the brother laughing at the dragon and calling the horns 'stupid'). Great!

Let's read ...

Me and my brother

As I showed my brother my new pet dragon he started laughing for ages and scratching my hair.” Aw look at his leathery, stubby scales and his stupid horns” he said while laughing. Now, I was chuckling too and was getting furious, but I managed to calm myself down. My dragon couldn’t bear the noise, so it glided away. Surely is this bad? “Are you serious George? “I said. “No “he replied. This is going to be a long day, I murmured to myself.
